Original Frank Lloyd Wright designed home built in 1949 in the city of Orinda located just 12 miles from San Francisco. The Estate includes stunning grounds of over 2 acres that were landscaped by Henry Matsutani who designed the Japanese Tea Gardens in Golden Gate Park.  There are so many special things about this estate.  There is a main house that has 18 karat gold ceilings inlaid in the Living Room, the Dining Room and the Master Bedroom.  Frank Lloyd Wright not only designed the home, but also much of the furniture and even the China for the dining room.  He designed the low back chairs in the dining room so as not to obstruct the inside/out view to the grounds.  The cement floors with radiant heating are geometrically designed by Frank also.  In addition to the Main House, there is a Guest House that has a full bath, kitchen, fire pit and the most amazing views of the grounds.  Below the guest house is an expansive Red Wine cellar.  There is also another building that was once a play house but now is being used for storage.  Below that is another Wine Cellar, this one is specifically for White Wine.  Nearby there is a wonderful Greenhouse where those with a green thumb can watch their plants grow.  Lastly there is a Japanese Tea house located in a far corner of the grounds.  Power and water make this a special retreat.  The grounds include close to 20,000 square feet of sod (grass), two lovely creeks run through and there are two newly rebuilt bridges granting access to the grounds.  We mentioned that Henry Matsutani designed the landscaping but the original owner convinced him to allow two Terra Cotta Soldiers from Xiang China to be prominently placed in view.  Back to the main house, just outside is an amazing Koi Pond that has a newer state of the art filtration system that keeps the water incredibly clear so visitors can enjoy the dozen Koi fish that are residents.  ...  ...
