House for subletting April 1-July 28 (available to lease for 2017-2018 as well). The house is an amazing deal! Four bedrooms for only $889! It is located at 113 W. Washington in Urbana, near the high school. The highlights: 4 bedrooms 1800 sf, plus walk up attic and full basement hardwood floors throughout lots of storage in every room, plus a garage comes with washer, dryer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, stove, and fridge fantastic internet available landscaped yard (not much to mow) close to bus lines and downtown Urbana The long-winded exhaustive details: The house is 1800 square feet plus a walk-up attic and full basement. There are hardwood floors in the living room, dining room, and 2 bedrooms, and original woodwork throughout the house. The living room is extra long, allowing space for a dance floor/performance space or for children to run around. The living room has 2 extra large closets. The dining room has a stained glass chandelier, plus a built-in cabinet for storage. The kitchen comes with appliances, including a dishwasher. It has an amazing amount of cabinets, plus a built-in cabinet, plus a walk-in pantry. There are two full bathrooms, one upstairs and one down. The big bedrooms upstairs each have a large closet. There is also a pass-through closet, between each large and medium bedroom, that can be utilized for the medium bedrooms. The pass-through closets are very helpful if you have young children who aren't quite ready to sleep on their own yet, but the pass throughs can also be blocked off for privacy for each bedroom. The medium bedrooms have tile floors. The house is already hooked up to ITV3, which provides super fast internet at a low cost, with no contracts or fees. The house is located at 113 W. Washington in Urbana, at the intersection of Race and Washington, near Urbana High School. It's a 12 minute walk to downtown, and is located on the bronze bus line, and only a few blocks from the green line. There's a garage that's not really usable for storing a vehicle, but is usable for storing everything else and is architecturally fun. The basement contains a new large capacity washer and dryer. It's mostly dry, and we have pallets down there to ensure safe storage. We landscaped the yard last year, building hugelkulture mounds and importing a ton of compost/soil from the LRC, and establishing many perennials with an emphasis on natives. There's also an apple tree and raspberries, a few established herbs, and a place away from the street for vegetable and herb gardening. There isn't a lot of grass left to be mowed, but it's also right next to a big empty grassy lot with plenty of room for playing. Also, it's two blocks to Carle Park. Why so cheap? We wondered the same thing when we moved in. But really, it's just an incredible deal. This property is owned by the school district, and they plan to tear it down in some unknown future. Until then, a beautiful vibrant old house is affordable for the rest of us. The drawbacks are mostly being at a busy intersection, which can make it an exercise in patience if leaving by car. (I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes.) I'm sensitive to noise, and the noise is quite tolerable. We love this house. :) It has truly been a home for us in our time in Urbana.
