Although this home sits on one acre of land, it backs up to 11 acres of wooded property that is privately owned. Our lot is definitely one of the favorite things about this property. It is wonderfully private in our backyard and on that first beautiful day in spring, it is spectacular to sit out on the lower patio, up on the deck, under the deck on the swing, or out on the hammock and watch the wildlife and beautiful birds and listen to the trickle of the stream that sits about 50 yards into the woods behind us! It goes without saying, that summer is incredible in this house. The outside areas that we have put in over the years have added so much to the quality of life factor in this home! The pool is spectacular and we have always opened it early May and closed it late September. It is a top quality 20x40 foot heated, salt filtered, Gunite pool with fountains and an electric cover that can be opened and closed at any time with the push of a button. It also has a mesh cover that is installed over the electric cover in the off-season. It was built by Quality Pools, in Columbus, and they have been regularly caring for it since they completed construction 4 years ago. We have been thrilled with it. Along with the fire-pit, outdoor putting green, hot-tub, walk out basement and outdoor area that is completely wired for music, the backyard has been a great source of entertainment for us and for the kids and all of their friends! It was a fantastic addition to the home. Lastly, I would be remiss to not mention one other absolute favorite room in the house. This is the front screened in porch. When we purchased the home, the porch was mostly decorative. We decided to reconfigure the design of the pillars and install Phantom screens. It turned out beautifully. The screens can be lowered and raised by remote control. We can raise the screens during high wind or violent rainstorms to avoid damage and for loading in and out furniture or just because! Of course we had cable run out there and needless to say, this room became high on the list (for at least one family member), for early morning news, Sunday TV sporting events, and weekend naptime. For others, it was early morning coffee and a good book or newspaper or a delightful evening homework room. Another spot that will be missed! I could go on about all the other wonderful things about the house and the neighborhood, like the art room above the garage, the downstairs exercise room, the hidden room under the stairs that the kids made into a fort, the friendly neighborhood with a mix of all ages, but in the end I think you can see for yourself that this is a wonderful family home. It has been very well cared for over the years and we hope that the next owners will have as many wonderful years as we did on Turfway Bend Drive!
