It is 1.5 blocks to the Potomac Avenue Metro (the Blue , Orange, and Silver lines). Buy a SMARTRIP card in the station... and it works on both buses and metro. You can buy a SMARTRIP card at the metro station or at the CVS. It is on the 30N and 30S, 32, 34, 36 and 39 bus lines which head straight down Pennsylvania Avenue to Downtown DC. passing the Library of Congress, the House Office buildings, the Capitol, the Botanical Gardens, and all of the Smithsonian museums, including the American Indian Museum, the Air and Space Museum, the National Gallery of Art, and the Museum of Natural History. At the Air and Space the bus turns right onto seventh and passes directly through the Mall to the Archives and Penn Quarter. From there it heads to Georgetown. NOTE: WHEN YOU RIDE THE BUSES YOU PAY ONE TIME FOR 3 HOURS OF RIDING- IN any direction and as much as you want. Just use your smartrip card. The home is less than four miles from Ronald Reagon Airport and a cab ride is under $20.00 US. You can also metro in from the airport, going to L?Enfant Plaza and changing to the Blue, Silver or Orange lines to Potomac Avenue Metro. From Dulles there is a public bus (5A) that comes into L?Enfant Plaza for $5.00 where you can take the Blue, Silver or Orange lines to Potomac Avenue Metro. A cab ride is about $75.00 US.
