It's in a good school district, around the corner from Lafayette Elementary, one of the best in DC, which feeds into Deal Middle School and Jackson-Reed High school. The award winning Broad Branch Market is 300 yards away. Our street is quiet, tree lined and safe with low traffic (plenty of on and off street parking). Its a 5 minute walk from The Avalon Theatre, Safeway and CVS and good restaurants ( like Birdsong, Parthenon, Macon Bistro and Opal). Friendship Heights metro is just over a mile away, with a bus to metro only a block away. American University is less than 2 miles, Georgetown less than four and all bikeable. The house comes fully furnished with all the mod cons. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an office, piano room, living room, dining room. The basement is fully finished with plenty of shelving/cupboard storage in the laundry room. In the last two years, partly to get ready for rental, we have redone the roof, kitchen (with new appliances), redone the A/C and heating system, and replaced/repaired all doors. We are painting the full house and polishing all floors before renting. We are willing to rent for a period from 3-18 months, (with a strong possibility of renewal) and will favor longer renters. We can move out/some or all our own furniture for a long-term renter. The use of our car is negotiable, and we have good access to a house cleaner -- they come every 2 weeks-- and a contractor, who we pay to be on call. Renter pays all utilities. Up to six people and up to three pets allowed. No smoking. Lease is 18 months (from April 1 2026 to September 30 2027), but we will consider shorter (at least 1 year April 1, 2026 to March 31 2027). Lease is likely to be renewable if we remain overseas in Ireland. The house has a refurbished kitchen and has new central AC, heat, water heater and roof. Open fireplace. Plenty of on street parking and space for one car off street.
