This is a furnished 10-month rental. It's located in Shoreline (not Seattle). We built this custom home in 2023. It's spacious and light-filled. It's our forever home. But we're going to be away from the Seattle area for a 10-month period starting at the end of August and we're looking for someone to rent it while we're away. The layout... Main floor: - The big living / dining space with tons of windows and skylights, including a nanawall that folds away to create an indoor/outdoor space. The kitchen has a giant (9') kitchen island that we love to use for potluck buffets. There's also an induction cooktop, two ovens, and lots of cabinet space. - Master bedroom with a queen bed. The attached bathroom is accessible, with a large walk-in shower. - Powder room. - Mud room with side-by-side washer/dryer, a doggy shower, and the bottom of the laundry chute. - Two car garage with additional storage beyond parking area . Top floor: - Office, with a sit-stand desk and a sofa-bed (and maybe the digital drum kit, unless we take it with us :-) - Extra large kids room, which is really like two rooms. There are two bunk beds (4 kids) and a couple of trundles (2 more). - Guest room with a queen bed. - Bathroom has a shared double-sink area (the "locker room") and connects to two full bathrooms, each with a tub, sink, and toilet. Downstairs: - TV area - Small kitchenette and bar-height table. - Another bedroom with a queen-size bed. - Full bathroom with standup accessible shower. Systems - Radiant floor heating throughout the house (quiet!). Each room has its own thermostat. - Mini-split A/C units in the main and upper floors, each with its own remote. - Water heater is a hybrid heat pump. Large capacity: 80 gallon. - Solar panels. We net-export energy for ~half the year. - Internet is from a fiber provider (Ziply) with ceiling-mounted wifi spots, one per floor. On our laptops we generally get 300Mbps (you can go faster if connected to the wall). Outside: - Large grassy yard. Big trampoline. Zip line. - Basketball in the driveway (shared with neighbors) Nearby: - Echo Lake Elementary is across the street - YMCA is a 5-minute walk (without crossing any streets) - Various stores are a 5-minute drive away, including Costco and Fred Meyer We have relatives living next door (in the green house). The large yard is shared with them. They can also help out with any questions that come up. We will be available by email/phone. 10 month lease -- ideally Sept 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. We have some flexibility on both ends. No smoking allowed on any part of the property including outdoors. We are taking applications through Zillow. Zillow has its own fee for tenants to apply (I think $35?), but it's a one-time fee and you can use it to apply to multiple homes. We don't have a separate application fee of our own. Must agree to a background check. The background check that comes as part of the Zillow application works for us. Must provide a credit report. Again, the one that comes with the Zillow application is fine. Must provide a valid photo ID for all applicants 18 or older. Must provide rental references for the prior 24 months, including contact info. Must submit all of the above and see the place in person or virtually for the application to be considered complete. If we notify you that your application is approved, you'll have 48 hours to sign the lease and submit the security deposit. After the 48 hours, we will offer the place to another applicant. The security deposit is one-month rent. This includes a non-refundable cleaning fee of $500. After the security deposit, you simply pay each month's rent by the 1st of the month. We will prorate the first/last months as needed. Utilities: We will cover the water bill (unless excessive). You will pay all other utilities: electricity, garbage, gas, internet.
